Why choose veneers in Austin, TX

Veneers are incredibly versatile in that they can change the shape, size, and color of your teeth! Many people use veneers to correct:

  • Misshapen teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Discolored teeth

During your initial exam, Dr. Nguyen will work with you to assess your cosmetic goals and your oral health to determine whether or not veneers are the right choice for you. Once you and Dr. Nguyen have decided that veneers are right for you, she will prepare your teeth by shaving down a small amount of enamel from the surface of the teeth in question. After your teeth are prepared, Dr. Nguyen will take impressions of your teeth to have your veneers custom-made for you in a lab.

Once your veneers are made, she will check the veneers to ensure they are the right color, shape, and size for your teeth and cement them in place.

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last you up to 10-15 years! Veneers are an investment in you and your confidence. Even though they are a little more expensive than other procedures, veneers are a long-term investment in your quality of life.

Most people are candidates for veneers; however, veneers are not the best procedure for everyone. Because Dr. Nguyen has to shave down some enamel, veneers are permanent, meaning that you will always need either veneers or a crown to protect the underlying tooth structure.

Additionally, while veneers can correct the appearance of crooked or gapped teeth, if your case is severe enough, they can’t be a substitute for Invisalign® or braces. Straightening your teeth has a large impact on your oral health, and Dr. Nguyen will assess your case specifically to determine whether or not you should start with more traditional orthodontic work.
